Advanced Riding Techniques PDF Print E-mail

Why take this course?

Have you ever wondered why some riders seem to glide through bends, always on the right line, always at the right speed? Changing traffic conditions don’t cause them any problems; they’re in the right place at the right time. If you’ve ever see Motor Officers handle their heavy weight cruisers with the ease of a child’s toy and wonder in amazement how they do it, wonder no more. These skills don’t come naturally to most of us, but can be learned.

Self awareness and attitude is the key to giving you full control and ensuring you get maximum enjoyment from years of safe riding. We all make mistakes, so at MOTO ART we have devised a course that will help you to minimize the risk to a great extent. We aim to open your eyes to everything that is happening around you!

The key elements to this course follow the training methods used by police forces around the world. We use a modified version of the Police Motor Officer course that can be taught in one day. Even riders with 20 years of experience will improve their skills.

What’s involved?

An assessment is carried out at the start of the course to get a feel for what you do well and what might be improved upon. We recognize that every rider has individual needs, and the course is developed around your own requirements so that we target your needs appropriately. We operate on a one to one basis to allow you to reap maximum benefits from the day.

The majority of the training is practical and takes place in a controlled environment and on open roads.

You can expect your instructor to be relaxed and friendly - we enjoy riding too!

The following are some of the points addressed throughout the course:
How to read bends
Correct speed and position
Throttle and brake control
Advanced observation and anticipation
Overtaking

Be prepared for a mentally and physically challenging but thoroughly rewarding day.
